We set aside this day to spend on the Washington Mall. We started at the Smithsonian Castle.

Driving to our hotel in Washington DC, my husband took a slight detour to show me the Washington National Cathedral.

We visited the Smithsonian National Zoological Park during our visit to Washington DC. We wanted to make sure we got to see the Giant Pandas before they move back to China.

Our second day in DC we visited the International Spy Museum. That was a blast! We spent many hours checking out the displays. They make it very fun and interactive! You receive a badge, cover, code word and “mission” to do as you go through the museum.

This summer I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Washington DC for a few days…

We recently visited the Virginia Zoo and I thought I would share a few pictures with you. When is the last time you visited a zoo?

About a month ago we visited the Elizabethan Gardens. What a beautiful place! The gardens are on Roanoke Island next to Fort Raleigh (which I have yet to explore).

Another fun stop in Nag’s Head is Jeanette’s Pier. It’s located on a beautiful beach and is the perfect place to go fishing! They have a nice gift shop and even a few aquariums.

If you ever get the chance to spend a night at the beach in the Outer Banks, you should. You’ll love it!

If you are looking for something to do in Nags Head, you should check out the Jockey’s Ridge State Park!

We visited Jockey’s Ridge shortly before sunset. They do close the park early, so we didn’t have much time and had to leave before complete sun down. As you can see, we were still treated to a beautiful pre-sunset show!

A few weeks ago my family went down to Cape Hatteras for the first time. We spent the night in Nags Head. It was the prefect break that we all so desperately needed!

Another successful day full of incredible sights! I would love to go back again some day to explore more of both Yellowstone and the Tetons.
